Driving With A Disability Guide

Driving With A Disability Guide

Individuals with autism possess the capability to drive safely. A study conducted by the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia’s Center for Autism and Research and the Center for Injury Research and Prevention revealed that teenage drivers with autism had a 45 percent lower probability of receiving moving violation citations compared to their peers of the same age.

However, it’s important to note that individuals with autism might experience certain difficulties when driving, such as:
1. Having a tendency towards being easily distracted by their surroundings.
2. Struggling with coordinating hand-eye-foot movements.
